About Us
Cobblestone Valley is a diversified organic farm certified by NOFA-NY, located in the heart of New York State right off Interstate 81. We are 20 minutes south of Syracuse and 10 minutes north of Cortland in the small town of Preble.
We are primarily a pick-your-own operation with anywhere between 5 and 10 acres of strawberries, however, we also take orders and sell to several restaurants. Every year a new field is planted and so the location is likely to change somewhat. You can always find up-to-date information on the location of the field, price, picking conditions, etc. on the update/home page of this website.
We plant several different varieties of berries. Each variety tastes and looks just a little different from the others. Planting several varieties allows us to extend the season and to educate about the subtle differences in strawberry flavor, color, size, and texture. Try them all and find your own favorite! Some of the varieties that we plant include Earliglow, Jewel, Cabot, Honeoye, and Cavendish. Our favorite is Earliglow, which is the first berry to ripen.
